Alfred J. Hoogland
SIOUX CENTER - Alfred J. Hoogland,67, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8,Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 11,at Bethel Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center.
Alfred J., son of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Hoogland, was bom Nov. 16,1921, in Sioux Center. He lived his youth in the Sioux Center and Middleburg area and attended country school there. He served in World War II in 1945 and 1946.
Alfred married Clara Kroese on March 30, 1949, in Hull. After his marriage they farmed southwest of Sioux Center and in 1962 they moved to a farm east of Sioux Center. In 1980, he semiretired and moved into a new rural home. He was a member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church.
He is survived by his wife, Clara; five children, Mrs. Ben (Grace Ann) Van Der Zwaag of Boyden, John A. Hoogland of Orang'e City, Mrs. Duane (Helen Joyce) Mulder of Sioux Center,
Alvin J. Hoogland of Orange City, Carl S. Hoogland of Orange City; two brothers, Gerrit J. Hoogland of Loveland, CO and Peter J. Hoogland of
Maurice; one sister Mrs. John H. (Alice) Nibbelink of Orange City and twenty-one grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mrs. Roy (Margaret)Rens and one grandchild, Christine Ann Hoogland, daughter of John and Cheryl.
