ESTHER VANDE STOUWE
Mrs. Esther Vande Stouwe, age 68, of Hull, passed away on Friday, August 19, at the Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, August 23, at 10:30am, at the First Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Verlyn Boone will officiate. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, at 10:00am, at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Monday, with the family present from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.
Esther Dalene was bom on April 12, 1937, at Rock Rapids, the daughter of John and Greta (Vos) Hommes. She was raised at Rock Rapids, where she graduated from high school.
On June 12, 1958, she married Harry Bert Vande Stouwe at Luverne, Minnesota. They made their home in Hull, where she was a homemaker and
worked at a variety of businesses. For about fifteen years, she enjoyed her employment at Casey's Bakery in Sioux Center.
Mrs. Vande Stouwe was a member of the First Reformed Church, where she served on the flower committee for several years.
Survivors include her husband of over 47 years; five daughters, Cindy Vande Stouwe, of Alexandria, Virginia; Carmen, and her husband, Samuel Zollman II, of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Shawn Vande Stouwe, of Aurora, Colorado; Denise Crew, of Castle Rock, Colorado; and Sigrid Vande Stouwe, of Alexandria, Virginia; six grandchildren, Samuel III and Aaron Zollman,
Addie and Katie Vande Stouwe, and Madison and Mallory Crew; and three sisters and two brothers, Irene Shelton, of Luveme; John and Hynie Hommes, both of Rock Rapids; Frances Vande Kop, of Billngs, Montana; and JoAnn Douglas, of Rock Rapids.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Hommes.
