Funeral Services Held for Mrs. Ver Wey

Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Ver Wey, 72 years, who died Sunday, July 22, at the Sioux Center hospital, were held Wednesday, July 25th at 1:00 at the Porter Funeral home, and 1:30 at the First Reformed church, with Dr. Henry Colenbrander officiating. Burial was in the Valley View cemetery, Rock Valley.

Mrs. Ver Wey was born February 3, 1890, in Gelderland, Holland to Mr. and Mrs. Hein De Graaff. She came to this country after the death of her father, at the age of 19 years, accompanied by her mother, a sister and brothers. They settled on a farm near Sheldon, then later moved near Rock Valley.

In September, 1926, she was married to John Ver Wey. To this union were born two children, Bertha, Mrs. Raymond Bakker of Rock Valley and John, who died in infancy. Her husband, John, died in September 1929.

Survivors include her only daughter, Mrs. Raymond Bakker, and three grandchildren.
