Mrs. Margaret Huse Dies at Pasadena

Murat M. Doherty received notice of the death of his aunt, Mrs. Margaret Huse of Pasadena Saturday at St. Luke's Hospital in Pasadena.

Mrs. Huse, nee Fitzpatrick, came to the Maurice vicinity during the '80s with her pioneer parents and was an early school teacher in that vicinity. Her first marriage was to Fred Vlotho of Ireton and the couple were proprietors of a general store in that town for many years. They went to California to live more than 25 years ago, and Mr. Vlotho's death occurred in that state. She was later married to Mr. Huse, who also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Huse was the last surviving member of the Fitzpatrick family and had no children. Her only survivors are nephews and nieces.

From the Hawarden Independent, December 27, 1956:

Relatives received word of the death of Mrs. Margaret Vlotho Huse Sunday [December 22]. She fell and broke her hip on Tuesday and died Saturday. She was 85 years old. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fitzpatrick, early pioneers in the Maurice vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. John Vlotho went by plane Tuesday to attend the funeral.
