Mrs. Ina Rice, age 70, died Monday (6-25-73) at the Colonial Manor Home in Hudson. Funeral services were held Friday at the Hudson Lutheran Church with Pastor M.P. Clouse, Chaplain of Bethesda Home of Beresford officiating. Burial was at the Edewn Cemetery in Hudson

Mrs. Rice, Ina Albertine Frederich was born July 6, 1902 to Cecelia and John Frederich at Elgin. Sher was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and also receivied her education at Elgin. On Sep. 123, 1925 she was united in marriage with John Martin Rice at Elgin. Following their marriage , they farmed in Sioux County near Hudson and later in Beresford, SD. vicinity. In 1933 the family moved to the town of Hudson to make their home. After Mr. Rice,s death in 1946, Mrs. Rice continued to make here home in Hudson until 1962 when she moved to Beresford and later to Yankton. On June 12 she returned to Hudson to become a resident of Colonial Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of the Hudson Lutherasn Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Survivors include three sons; Carroll of Inwood; Harold of Fort Bragg of N.C. and Roger in Germany; two daughters, (Geraldine) Mrs. Donald VandPol of Hawarden and (Elaine) Mrs. James Durkin of Leavenworth, Kans. and ten grandchilsdren; five sisters Mrs. Otto Blockhus, Mrs. Waltert Mitts and Mrs. Francis West all of Eglin, Mrs. Milton Voelker of Reinbeck, and Mrs. Florence Tulsvig of West Union and one brother John Frederich of Guttenburg.
