Mrs. Henry Van Voorst, 75, passed away Wednesday, May 18 at her home in Sioux Center.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 21, for Mrs. Henry Van Voorst at 1:00 p.m. in the Vander Ploeg Chapel and at 2:00 p.m. in the Netherland Reformed Church, Sioux Center. The Rev. C. Hegeman officiated. Burial was in the Sioux Center Community cemetery.

Harold Schelling was organist. Pallbearers were Henry Van Bochove, Henry Van Voorst, Kenneth Van Voorst, Harold Van Voorst, Henry Rus and Alvis Van Beek.

Mrs. Van Voorst, nee Alice Vande Hoef, was born February 20, 1891, in the Netherlands. She married Henry Van Voorst in January 16, 1917.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died February 11, 1943; three brothers, Rev. Jacob Vande Hoef, William Vande Hoef, Mass Vande Hoef; and two sisters, Janet (Mrs. Jake Van Voorst) and Martha (Mrs. Case Vander Zandsculp[?]).

Survivors include five daughters, Hermina (Mrs. William Van Bochove), Rock Valley, Gertrude (Mrs. Henry Van Beek), Orange City, Hattie (Mrs. John Rus), Corsica, S.D., Marie (Mrs. John Bakker), Rock Valley, Priscilla (Mrs. Jack Dibbet), Sioux Center; four sons, John H., Sioux Center, Richard H., Sioux Center, Jake H., Hills, Minn., Gerrit H., Sioux Center; 54 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Vander Ploeg
funeral chapel here at 1 p.m. Saturday for Mrs. Henry (Alice) Van Voorst, 75, who passed away May 18 at her home of a heart ailment. She had not been ill until shortly before her passing.

The 1925 Iowa census gives her parents' names as John Den Holf and Gertrude Rozeboom.
