Funeral services were held Monday Feb. 26, for Mrs. A.J. Schumacher,Sr.,89, of Sioux City who passed away after a brief illness. Burial was in the Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Schumacher, the former Anna Heider, was born Sept. 4, 1883 in Germany. She came to the United States when she was 16 years old. She was married to A,J, Schumacher Jan. 7, 1901 at Hawarden. He died in 1943. Mrs.Schumacher moved to her home in Sioux City about 14 years ago. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Leeds.

Survivors include five sons, Gregory and Joseph, both of Alcester,SD.Leo of Hawarden and George and Anthony J.Schumacher Jr., both of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. John (Catherine) Rembe of Sioux City and Mrs. Walter (Clara) Busch of Chatsworth, Iowa; 28 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren
