Gerrit De Boer, 76, of Rock Valley died Wednesday, May 10, 1989, in Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Fa1ls, S.D.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Calvin Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley with. the Rev. Jerry Van Groningen and the Rev. Tom Vanden Bosch officiating.
Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.
Visitation was held at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.
Mr. De Boer was born July 29, 1912, in Rock Valley. He married Jessie Tamminga June 2, 1949, in Sioux Center. He was a partner in the De Boer Oil Company at Rock Valley until his retirement in 1984.
Mr. De Boer was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Wes (Glenda) Engbers of Sioux Falls; a brother, Oscar of Rock Valley; three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Cleveringa of Rock Valley, Mrs. Gertie Van Middendorp of Doon and Mrs. Jennie Driesen of Rock Valley and two grandchildren.
