Rock Valley Gazette: At his residence on the South side, on Wednesday Nov. 16, 1893, P. A. Huysman, died of typhoid lever. He leaves a wife
and two children to mourn his loss. Mr. Huysman's half brother, Anton van Drongelen, who enlisted in Co. F, came home sick and it is thought that Mr. Huysman caught the fever frcm
he soldier boy whom he nursed for a while. The funeral will be held at the Reformed Holland church on Friday at 2 p. m. The body will be interred at the Rock Valley cemetery.
Mr, Huysman was a former student the Academy. Mrs. Huysman (nee Sjoukje Postma) was also well known among our people having lived among us for a number of years and was respected by all.
(Was unable to find the first name and family of P. A. Huysman (Huisman?) Sioux County Death records has P. A Huisman at 31 yrs died Nov 24, 1898. The 1900 census for Rock Tsp Sioux County has Ashe (Sjoukje) Huisman born 1867 Holland came to USA 1886 married 1896 was a widow, children were Stephen 4, and John 3. Her brother Charles Postma was living with them.)
