Funeral services were held Monday, November 18, at 2:00 P.M., from the Netherlands Reformed Church in Sioux Center for John de Joode, 30, who died November 14 at his home in Rock Valley following a lingering illness.

A brief service for the family was held at 12:30 P.M., at the family home in Rock Valley. Burial was made in the Lutheran Cemetery at Alvord, under the direction of Cooperative Funeral Service of Sioux Center.

Mr. de Joode was born near Valley Springs, SD., October 24, 1927, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Teunis de Joode. He lived near Valley Springs until ten years ago, when he moved to Rock Valley.

Survivors besides his parents are the following brothers and sisters: Regina (Mrs. Geo. Van Den Top), Nellie (Mrs. Jacob Bloom), Cornie, Gerrit, Adrian, Teunis, Grace (Mrs. Cliff Hansen), Anthony, Adrianna (Mrs. Elmer Mahler), Arie and Mrs. Jennie Van Der Schaaf.
