Anna De Jong, 96, of Rock Valley, died Saturday, December 13, 2003, at Valley Manor. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Calvin Christian Reformed church, Rock Valley. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery. Rev. Roger Sparks will be officiating. Anna De Jong was born March 05, 1907 near Rock Valley, daughter of Thomas and Tillie ( Van Duyn) Vanden Bosch. She graduated from the Rock Valley Christian School. She married Henry De Jong on Feb. 12, 1930, in Rock Valley. They lived on a farm southeast of Rock Valley until moving into Rock Valley in 1966. Mr. De Jong died Sept. 14, 1991. She moved to Valley Manor on March 22, 2000. She enjoyed family, crocheting and sewing, as well as playing piano, Rummikub and Scrabble. She had beauty, inner strength and spirit. Her faith carried her through life and she eagerly awaited meeting her Lord. Survivors include four sons, Lester and Lin De Jong of Cormstock Park, MI, Norman and Wilma De Jong of Howard City, MI, Nelson and Gert De Jong of Rock Valley, and Russell and Rose mary De Jong of Tempe, AZ; two daughters, Dorothy Breems of Prinsburg, MN, and Lorraine and Gary Van Laaf of Sioux Falls, SD; 20 grandchildren, 54 great-grand- children and three great-grand-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry De Jong; two sons-in law; a grandson; three great-grandchildren; four brothers; and two sisters.
