January 9, 1933
Adelaide Hendrene De Jong, sixty, of Hull, Iowa, died Saturday at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull, Iowa.
Born January 9, 1933 in Maurice, Iowa, she was the daughter of Arie and Alyda (Vander Brake) Punt. Adelaide graduated in 1951 from the Sioux Center High School.
On April 2, 1954 she and Arnold G. De Jong married in Carmel, Iowa. Mrs. De Jong worked as a cook for the Boyden-Hull Community Schools in the Hull kitchen. Adelaide was a member of First Reformed Church in Hull. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and reading.
Survivors include: her husband, Arnold, in Hull; three sons and their wives, Arlin and Monica of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mark and Deana of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Larrell and Jodi of Ames, Iowa; two brothers, Willard Punt of Sheldon, Iowa and Roger Punt of Sully, Iowa; three sisters, Arlene Boscaljon of Sanborn, Iowa, Hendrene Kats of Rock Valley, Iowa, and Margaret Kooistra of Sioux Center, Iowa; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
