Ethel Mathilda Duitman, 83, died Friday, February 18, at the Sioux Center Health Center.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 21, at First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Ron Lammers officiating. Burial and additional services will be Wednesday, February 23, in Alto, Wisconsin.
The former Ethel Lammers was born June 8, 1910, in Metomen, Wisconsin, daughter of Benjamin and Reka (Vander Bush) Lammers. She was among the first class to graduate from the Reformed Bible Institute in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She married Hubert Duitman on August 31, 1951, in Brandon, Wisconsin. They lived in Alto until 1968. The Duitmans moved to Bradenton, Florida, where they lived until eight years ago when they moved to Sioux Center.
She was a church organist for 35 years and taught Sunday school for 20 years at the Alto Christian Reformed Church. She was also a past member of the Bradenton Christian Reformed Church in Florida and First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center.
Survivors include her husband; a son and his wile, Henry and Lisa of Sioux Center; a sister, Hannah Bossenbroek of Waupun, Wisconsin; a brother, John Lammers of Brandon, Wisconsin; two granddaughters; and 17 nieces and nephews.
