Hubert Duitman
December 15, 1899---January 9, 1998
Hubert Duitman, 98, of Sioux Center died Friday, January 9.
Services were January 12 at Alto Christian Reformed Church. Alto, Wisconsin, with the Rev. John Tousley offlciating. Burial was at Alto Cemetery.
A memorial service will also take place Saturday, January 17, at 11 am. at First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center.
Duitman was born December 15, 1899, in Alto Township. the son of Luther and Dora (Kempers) Duitman. He married Alice Van Buren in 1923. She died in 1950. He married Ethel Lammers August 31, 1951. She died in 1994. He was a resident of Alto Township until 1968 when he moved to Bradenton, Florida. He lived there until 1986 and then moved to Sioux Center. He worked as a salesman for McNess Products for 22 years. He also worked for the Alto Creamery and worked with his father as a painter and paper hanger.
He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, Sioux Center, and a former member of Alto Reformed Church and Alto Christian Reformed Church.
Survivors include a son, Henry and his wife Lisa Duitman of Sioux Center and two granddaughters, Elayna Duitman of Boston, Massachusetts. and Jennifer Duitman of Sioux Center; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mildred Duitman; four brothers, Harry (infant), Edwin. Harry II and Elmer; and two sisters. Dorothy Wessels and Laura Wessels.
