Mrs. Jane Chatterton died at the home of her son, George Chatterton,Wednesday afternoon,
June 15. She was stricken with paralysis about twelve years ago and suffered a socond stroke- six years later, after which time she failed rapidly. For four years before her death she had been practically helpless. Jane Rutherford was born in Virginia Dec.8, 1844. She was married to S. F. Chatterton in Illinois in 1861. Six children were born to them,four of whom, George, Mrs. Nettie Jordon of Struble, Wm. R. of Wessington Springs, S. D. and Frank, of Sioux City are still living.
The funeral was held Friday afternoon at the M. E. church in this city, Rev. Gilbert preaching the funeral sermon.
