Hawarden Independent, February 28, 1946

Dixie Ervin, infant daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Ervin, died suddenly at her home in the north part of town about 8:40 last Friday morning from a heart ailment.

Funeral services were held at the Ross Funeral home at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, with Rev. W. V. Bell in charge. Donna Anderson, Donna Swanson and Delores Haines sang "Jesus Loves Me", and "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam". Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery besided her brother.

Dixie Clydene Ervin was born December 12, 1944. She leaves to mourn her untimely passing her parents, one brother, Orlyn and three sisters, Nona Ruth, Neva and Yvonne. A brother, Darwin preceded her in death of March 7, 1936.

Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mr. & Mrs. F. E. Coats, Mr. & Mrs. W. C. Middleton and Margie Middleton of Parsons, Kan., H. A. Lansdowne of Akron; Mr. & Mrs. D. M. Royalty of Montrose, SD; Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Waterbury; Mrs. Delia Waterbury; H. B. Smith and Don Campbell of Akron.
