G. Roghair who resides about two miles north of Maurice, was suddenly stricken with paralysis last week and was unable to recover from the shock and died last Monday morning. Mr. Roghair was on of the early pioneers and is among the wealthiest and well to do farmers of the county and his death will be a great loss to the community.

An on line account lists Gerrit Roghair as b. 6 aug 1832 Barneveldt Neth. Son of Johan Jacob Roghair and Therese Julie VanRavenswaay. Children were - Johan, Jacoba, Jan, Nicolas, Therese, Julie, Christina, Hendrika, Louisa, Gerrit and Maria.)
