Henry Ganzevoort, one of the early settlers in this part of Sioux County, died suddenly at his home in Hospers Tuesday morning about nine o'clock from heart failure, aged 76 years, 2 months and 11 days. The funeral was held yesterday at the Frist Reformed church in this place, and the burial took place a the new Hospers cemetery.
Mr Ganzevvort was born at Kollum, Friesland, Neth. in 1836 and was married in 1861 to Grietje Zylstra, who bore him four children, of whom three are living in America and one in the Netherlands. Of the three in America, Riekel and Celes live here and Andrew is a doctor in a suburb of Chicago. The family came to America in 1867 and located at Pella. In 1884 they came to Sioux county, locting first ona farm 4 miles south of Hospers ad later on the farm just northwest of town, where Celes now resided. in 1897 Mrs. Ganzevoort died, and in 1906 Mr. Ganzevoort was married to Mrs. A. Wierda, who survives him. Besides the relatives mentioned Mr. Ganzeoort leaves one sister in the old country one borhter Peter, who resided with his daughter, Mrs. P. Staplehorst, numerous grandchildrren and others. (Hospers Tribune source.)
