After an illness of five weeks, B. Doornewaard (Doornwaard) succumbed to an attack of typhoid fever Tuesday. Bart, as he was familiarly called, was a young man 27 years of age, well like, and leaves a host of friends to mourn his departure. The funeral took place Thursday from the Chr. Ref. Church.

Children were Jan 1866, Beerd 1968, Evertje 1873, Dries 1875, Hannah 1876, Driesje 1880, and Lubbertje. In the 1900 census only 3 of six children were living, she was a widow)
