Albert "Bert" Voetberg, 79, of Rock Valley, died Saturday, July 10, 1993 at his residence in Rock Valley.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. C. Eric Fennema officiating. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery at Rock Valley. Visitation will be all day Tuesday, with the family present from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Mr. Voetberg was born November 19, 1913 in Cawker City, Kansas, the son of Harry and Anna (Boxum) Voetberg. He married Grace Kooiman on March 27, 1941 at Rock Valley. They lived in Orange City for six years before returning to Rock Valley where he worked at the bakery. He started Western Auto in 1956 and began working in the plumbing business in 1961 until retiring in 1976. Following retirement he worked in a variety of odd jobs including the Coast to Coast Store. He was a life long member of the Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife, Grace; a son, Harlan and his wife Carol of Gillette, Wyoming; a daughter, Deanna "Dee" and her husband Howard Van Beek of Lynden, Washington; three sisters, Margaret Overweg of New Holland, South Dakota, Mrs. John (Johanna) Feenstra of Lynden, Washington and Mrs. Andy (Helen) Scholten of Hull, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Jess Voetberg of Rock Valley and Pearl Moermond of Hudsonville, Michigan; six grandchildren, Troy, Trent and Lana Van Beek, Dawn, Lynn and Kari Voetberg; and two great-grandchildren, Karissa and Michael.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph, Evert, Ben and Harold in infancy; and two sisters, Hattie Overweg and Rosie Vander Weg.
