CORA BURKET FUNERAL SET FOR TODAY

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today, Thursday, at the Associated Church in Hawarden for Mrs. Cora Burket, 80, who died Monday, February 2, in the Hawarden Community Hospital. Rev. Herbert Young will officiate and burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dow Funeral Home.

Mrs. Burket was born April 11, 1889, in Union County, the former Pauline Cora Rummel. On October 22, 1913, she married Guy Burket. He preceded her in death in 1943. She served on the Hawarden Hospital board for many years and was a member of the Associated Church.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Fred Vernon of Hawarden and Mrs. Margaret Miller of Alcester.

Mrs. Guy Burket

Funeral services were held at the Associated church in Hawarden February 5 for Mrs. Guy Burket, 80, of Hawarden who died at the Hawarden hospital February 2.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Herbert Young and burial was made in Grace Hill cemetery at Hawarden.

Mrs. Burket, the former Pauline Hurlburt, was born April 11, 1889, in Union County, South Dakota. She was married October 22, 1913, at Hawarden. Mr. Burket died in 1943.

Survivors include Mrs. Fred Vernon of Hawarden and Mrs. Margaret Miller of Alcester, S.D.

CORA BURKET FUNERAL HELD LAST WEEK

Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Pauline Burket were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 5, at the Associated Church in Hawarden with Rev. Herbert Young officiating. Mrs. Hal Shoemaker served as organist and Hal Shoemaker, soloist, sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "How Great Thou Art." Casket bearers were Lee Keehn, Glenn Hansen, C. C. Schoeneman, Henry Visser, C. B. Thompson and Glenn Olson. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden.

Her parents were Harry Hurlburt and Elizabeth Hartman (Iowa 1925 Census). Note that the various newspaper articles do not agree on the correct form of her name.
