Christopher G. Eilts, 72, of Ireton, formerly of Sioux City, died October 6 in a care center in Hawarden after a long illness.

Services were Thursday at Dow Funeral Home in Ireton the Rev. Loren Vogler officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Eilts was born September 7, 1915, in Melvin and was raised in the Ireton area. He farmed in the Ireton area until 1941, when he moved to Sioux City. He was employed by the Sioux City Stockyards until his retirement in 1980. He entered Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden this year, and was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his brother, Raymond Eilts of Hawarden; a sister, Grace Mulder of Wainea, Hawaii; and two half-sisters, Lydia Mulder of Alton and Freda DeRaad of Ireton.
