Lucille Morgan,74,of Hawarden, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002 at the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden. Memorial services was Tuesday,March 5 at the Associated Church in Hawarden with Pastor Char Fillingsness officiating.

Lucille Morgan was born Jan 1, 1928 at Alcester, SD to Edna and Frederick Johannsen. She graduated from Hawarden High School in 1945. She married John Morgan on May 27, 1948, they divorced in 1974. She worked as a linotype operator at the Hawarden Independent for 22 years. She was then employed at the Sioux City Journal for over 20 years in the composing room. She was a member of the Associated Church, where she was active for many years as a member of the choir.

Survivors include; son Dennis Morgan of Scappoose, Ore.; daughter Laurie Morgan of Hawarden; three grandaughters and two great grandchildren; a brother, Sonny Johannsen of Salt Lake City,Utah, Dick Johannsen of Wheatridge, Colo. and Larry Johannsen of Santa Rosa, Calif.
