The little child of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Plathe died from a severe attack of brain fever Monday, aged one year. The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery Wednesday. The parents have the ympathy of all in their bereavement.
(In the obit of Mrs. Anna Plathe it mentioned she was proceded in death by two daughters, Susan 2 and Mathilda 6 months, however in the cemetery index Mathilda born 27 Jan 1895 died 28 Jun 1896/98, seems to be this child. From the St. Joe's Church book of Granville, Herman E. Plathe was born Jan 31, 1850 at New Vienna, IA and Married Anna Niggeling Oct 24, 1876. Other children born to them were - Mary Plathe Konz, Cecilia Plathe Conz, Elizabeth Plathe Henrich, Bernard Plathe married Johanna Mousel, Katherine Plathe Henrich and Anthongey Plathe married Agnes E. Wollschlager.
