Mrs. Mildred Moorhead, age 94, of Cherokee, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2011, at the Countryside Estates in Cherokee.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, February 12, at 2:00pm, at the Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton. Arrangements are with the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.
Mildred was born on December 30, 1916, at Alton, the daughter of Oscar and Grace (Moyer) Eason. She was raised at Alton, where she graduated from high school.
She married Bill Moorhead, and they were later divorced.
She spent much of her life in Cherokee, where she owned and operated a drapery shop.
In November of 2010, she became a resident of Countryside Estates.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Linda Moorhead, of Omaha, Nebraska; a grandson, Rodney Moorhead; and two brothers and their wives, Norman and Bertha Eason, of Alton; and Wayne and Betty Eason, of Orange City.
She was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Moorhead, and a brother, George Eason.
