Obituary: Ireton, Iowa- Wilma "Honey" Irene Liston, 79, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, Minnesota.
Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. Friday with the family present from 5-7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ireton. A prayer service at 7 p.m. will be led by Rev. Andrew Carlson. Family will be gathering at the church at 10 a.m. Saturday for an internment at 10:30 a.m. at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Wilma was born January 6, 1932 to Chris and Anna (Heuer) Westergard in Hawarden, Iowa. Wilma married Earl Degen on April 6, 1951, to this union four children were born, Donna, Barb, Mark, and Todd.
On January 2, 1975, Wilma married Daryl Liston. Daryl passed away in December 1998. The last two and a half years, Wilma spent in Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, Minnesota where she had many wonderful caregivers.
Wilma is survived by two daughters, Donna (Terry) Summers of Ireton, Iowa, Barb Marienau of Sheldon, Iowa; four sons, Mark (Julie) Degen, Todd (Linda) Degen, Greg (Jolene) Liston, Jerry (Carol) Liston all of Ireton; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren with 3 more expected this year; sister-in-law, Darlene Westergard of Orange City; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Dick Meyer of Luverne, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daryl Liston; 3 brothers; 3 sisters, and a son-in-law, Jeff Marienau.
