Former Mayor Of Chatsworth Dies
Carl V. Mason, 56, former mayor of Chatsworth, died unexpectedly Friday at his home in Sioux
City of a heart attack.
A group of members of Dale lodge 456 of the Masonic order in Hawarden attended services Tuesday afternoon at Sioux City. Burial was at Memorial Park cemetery.
Mr. Mason was born May 13 1895, at Luray MO. He resided in sioux city most of his life. He returned to Sioux city after completing two terms last April as mayor of Chatsworth.
He was a veteran of WWI in which he served with the Rainbow division in France. He was awarded the purple heart and oakleaf cluster. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Hawarden, He had been a machine operator for the North American Manufacturing Co.
Survivors are the widow, Gladys; a son Lyle of Great Lakes IL and a daughter Mrs. Doris Edelen of Pacific Grove CA; three sisters, Mrs. Nelly Wilson of Holyoke CA, Mrs. Gertrude Poellot of Burlington WA and Mrs. Fern Smith of Highwood Il and five grandchildren.
