Beryl Jean Millikan, 81, of Hawarden died Thursday, June 12, at Hawarden community Hospital.
Service were 1:30 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in Hawarden, with the Rev. Tim Walker officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Genetery.
Mrs. Millikan was born Mary 24, 1927, in Union county, South Dakota, near Elk Point, the daughter of Guy and Anna Mae (Tillotson) Harkness. She attended rural school at the Sayles Country School. She married Richard Millikan on November 18, 1945, in Sioux City. They made their home in Hawarden. She worked for the Johnson Biscuit Company in Sioux City and later was employed at Otis Radio in Hawarden. She also worked as a waitress at a number of establishments in Hawarden.
She painted beautiful nature scene pictures and enjoyed her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; a son, Ted Millikan of Hawarden; a brother and his wife, Alvin and Pauline Harkness of Elk Point; three sisters, Bernice Dimmick of Hawarden, Benita Livingston of Yankton, SD; and Beatrice Hall of Otis Orchard WA; 11 grand and 22 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son David in 1978; an infant son, Erwin Gene in 1950; two sisters and seven brothers.
