Howard D. Liston, 64, of Hawarden, died Friday, Nov. 30, 1984, at his home after brief illness.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at the American Lutheran Church. The Rev. Robert Hamel officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of the Dow Funeral Home.
Mr. Liston was born Sept. 20, 1920, in Maurice. He married Viola Van Wyhe Feb. 6, 1952, in Hawarden. They farmed in the Chatsworth area before moving to Hawarden in 1977.
He was a member of the American Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Bonnie) Newton of Woodbury, MN, and Nancy Liston of Hawarden; two sons, Douglas of Dakota city, NE, and Steve of Hawarden; ten brothers, Lee, Duane, Jim, Roger and Dick, all of Hawarden, Lloyd of Ireton, Daryl of Welcome, MN, Wes of Albia, Lawrence of Fort Worth, TX, and Norman of Roseville, MN: six sisters, Vivian Finch, Neva Busch, Darlen Rummel and Cindy McKee, all of Hawarden, Myra Heuer of Rock Valley, Betty Gronemeyer of Cherokee and four grandchildren.
