Death of Mrs. Epsy Green
Passed Away at Hawrden Hospital Last Friday
Mrs. Hephzibah Green passed away last Friday at the Harwarden hospital after a long illness, at the age of 74 years, 3 months and 16 days. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. A. M. McIntosh, and interment was made in Grace Hill Cemetery.
Hephzibah Waterman was born in Kent England, Dec 10, 1845. At the age of five years she came to America with her parents who settle in Lewis County MO. When fifteen years of age she united with the church. At the age of twenty she was untied in marriage with Jackson Green and to this union six daughters and three sons were born. Her husband and three children proceded her in death, Elizabeth and William dying in infancy, and Mrs. Oscar Fletcher passing away in 1917. Those who are left to mourn her departure are Mrs. W. A. Brest, Mrs. Geo. Dick, A. C. Green and Elvin Green, all of Hawrden, and Mrs. A. J. Wiseman and Mrs. C. L. Burgess of Des Moines. She is also survived by two brothers, tenty-five grandchidlren and seven great grandchildren, besides many other relatives and friends.
