Zwagerman, P. Jake 1896-1949

Death came suddenly to Jake P. Zwagerman after suffering a heart attack at his home Friday evening July. He was born on December 15, 1896 at Holland, Minn., later moving to Iowa with his parents living near Hospers. He served in the armed forced during World War I. He married Bertha De Boer of Alton in June,1918, who survives him. They lived on a farm 2 miles west of Hospers until about 10 years ago, when he purchased the Hospers Hardware Store and moved with his family to town.

He is survived by his wife and one son, Wallace, his aged father Peter Zwagerman, two brothers, Ed and Dick of Hospers, also four sisters, Mrs. Ben Vande Griend of Middleburg, Mrs. J. Vande Griend of Boyden, Mrs. William Hofmeyer of Hospers and Mrs. Hilbert Vogel of Lynden, Wash.

Services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home and 1:30 at the 1st Reformed church. Rev. G. Docter officiated, interment in the Hospers cemetery.
