Word was received of the death of Mr. A. J. Betten at Chicago. A couple weeks ago Mrs. Betten left for Chicago for the purpose of undergoing an operation. The operation was performed Monday. Tuesday night a leter was recieved stating she was doing finely. Wednesday morning a telegram came saying she had died at 6 a.m. Tis sad indeed, and calls for profound heartfelt sympathy.
Maria Johanna Rhynsberger was born 16 Jun 1844 died 27 Jun 1894. Married 23 Oct 1866 at Marion County IA. In the Ref. Church book membership reords states the family came to Orange City in 1873 Antonie and Maria had at least the following children listed. Antonis Jacob b. 1867, Dirk Laurens b. 1869, Hermanus Jan b. 1860, Maria Johanna b. 1873, Jacoba b. 1874, Cornelius b. 1877 and Antonia b. 1882
