DAVID CAMMOCK DIED ON MONDAY
David Cammock, a resident of Hawarden for 46 years, passed away at the McAninch Nursing home at 9:30 Monday evening [Feb. 26] from a heart ailment.
Funeral services will be held at the Associated church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, with Rev. Noel Orcutt in charge. Interment will be in Grace Hill cemetery.
David Cammock was born in Drumkirk Neutonnards, County Down, Ireland, on November 28, 1864, and he grew to young manhood in his native land. He was united in marriage with Margaret Jennison in Neutonnards February 3, 1892, and to this union were born seven children, four of whom survive him. He came to America in the fall of 1889 and shortly after, he came to Hawarden, where he made his home continuously during the intervening years. His wife, two daughters, Sarah and Margaret, and one son, David, preceded him in death. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. H. C. Brown of Delhi, Minn., and three sons, Fred of Los Angeles, Calif., Thomas John of Hawarden, and Henry I. of Orange City.
In 1904, Mr. Cammock lost his sight, which was a sore affliction for a man with a large family. The death of his wife a number of years ago proved a hardship for him as she had been his constant companion and cared for him. After her death he continued to live in his home for a time but this winter he was removed to the McAninch Nursing home.
