Funeral services for Charles F. Jans,92, of Akron who died Monday at the Panska Nursing home in Hawarden where he had been cared for five years, will be at 2:30 this afternoon (Thursday) at the Methodist church in Akron. Rev. C.L. Guinn will officiating and burial will be in the Akron cemetery.

Mr. Jans was born in Tipton,Iowa, January 13, 1868. He homesteaded in Dakota territory during which time there were numerous indian uprising in the territory. He farmed for many years in the Akron vicinity. He married Freda Mann July 8, 1895. She died in Akron on April 2, 1951.

Survivors include sevan daughters, Mrs. Margaret Onnen, Mrs. Minnie Rosenbaum, Mrs. Ethel Onnen and Mrs. Marie Starkman, all of Akron, Mrs.Clara Rosenbaum and Mrs. Edna Petty, both of Elk Point, SD. and Mrs. Freda Onnen of Rutlland,SD.; a son, Karl of Akron, two brothers, Gustave of Chico, Calif and Edward of Akron; 32 grandchildren and 60 great grandchildren.
