Charles V. Cain, 77, of Hawarden, died Monday, Sept. 7 in a hospital at Hawarden.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the United Methodist Church at Hawarden. The Rev. Marion Bloodworth officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery. There was a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Dow Funeral Home.

Mr. Cain was born June 19, 1904, at Grayson County, Ky. He married Vera Louise Graham Nov. 27, 1926, at Rock Rapids and was employed by Sioux County for 32 years, retiring in 1970. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Ray (Helen) DeReemer and Mrs. Donald (Jana) Hartman, both of Sioux City and Mrs. Kendall (Judy) Peters of Des Moines; one son, James of Frisco, Colo.; two brothers, Fountain of Hawarden and Leonard of Sioux City; one sister, Mrs. Bess Hawkins of Louisville, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
