Requiem mass will be said at St. Mary's Catholic church in Hawarden at 10 o'clock this morning (Thursday)for F Daniel Ronan,74, who died at his home in Canton Monday. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery here.

Mr. Roran had suffered severe strokes, but was able to get about until recently, having attended the 50th wedding anniversary event of the M.J. Puhis in Hawarden January 28.

The rosary was recited at the Barnard Funeral home Tuesday and Wednesday evenings

Mr. Ronan, who for 40 years resided in the Hawarden vicinity was born at Farley, Iowa August 18, 1887, and he came to Hawarden in 1910. He married Margaret Westergard November 24, 1915 and engaged in farming. later working as a stock feed saleman. They moved to Alcester in 1950 where they operated Irene's cafe until 1956 when they moved to Canton.

He was preced in death by a daughter Mary, Mrs. Ed Brown at Omaha, who succumbed to a rare disease. She at one time operated a beauty parlor in Sioux City.

Survivors include the widow; six daughters, Mrs. Leo Schiefen of Alcester, Mrs. M. Paul Dutton of Billings, Mont., Mrs. Linus Hurley of Canton, Mrs. Glenn McVay of Lawton, Okla., Mrs. Lloyd Batchelder of Akron and Mrs. Maurice Tomjack of Rock Rapids; two sons Gene of Omaha and John of Mount Prospect, Ill., two brothers Ed of Milwaukee, Wisc. and Tom of El Hombra, Calif. and 39 grandchildren.
