Funeral Services for Mrs. Maggie Wood,91, longtime resident of this community who died Sunday afternoon at the Burnight Nursing home, were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon (Thursday) in the Methodist church.

Rev. C.E. Custer will officiate, Hal Shoemaker accompanied. Burial will be in Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral home.

Margaret Catherine Arnner was born August 20, 1870, at Kingston, Ill. She came to live this area with her parents in a covered wagon at the age of 13 and settled at Ireton. She married Frank Wood on December 14, 1891 and they farmed six miles east of Hawarden. They later built a home in Hawarden and moved into town. Mr. Wood died in 1937. Also preceding her in death were a son and a daughter, both whom died in infancy.

In 1902 Mrs. Wood joined the Methodist church. She had been cared for at the Burnight Nursing home the past six years.

Survivors include four nieces, Mrs.Whitten of Yuba City, Calif. Mrs. Mae Offerholtzer of San Francisco, Mrs. Opal Talbott of Graham, Mo. and Mrs. C.T. Youngkin of Hawarden
