Funeral services for Albert Wheeler,78, who died Thursday after having been ill for some time, were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Methodist church. Rev. C.E. Custer officiated with burial in Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral home.

Mr. Wheeler was born February 6, 1884 at Hawarden. He married Blance Lown on February 17, 1905. They recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.

For 35 years he served as rural mail carrier here, retiring in 1943 when they moved to Mora, Minn. They returned to Hawarden in 1959 when they purchased a home at 1113 Avenue F. He was a member of the Methodist church and Woodmen of the World Lodge.

Survivors include the widow; four sons, Lloyd of Mulhall, Okla.,Lyle of Largo, Fla., Leon of Whittier, Calif., and Albert of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Mrs. Doris Swenson of Allentown, PA.and Mrs. Ted. Burnight of Hawarden; a brother, Ralph of Hawarden; a sister Mrs. Florence Walker of Saratoga, Calif; 19 grandchildren and eight great Grandchildren
