Fred Carpenter Dies At Age 84

Funeral services for Fred Carpenter,84, who died at Isanti, Minn., March 18, were held last Wednesday at Cambridge, Minn.

Mr. Carpenter was born and raised in the Big Spring area. When he and his brother, Albert of Hawarden, farmed west of here. Miss Lucille Mudgett was their houskeeper and later became the bride of Fred Carpenter. They resided for the past 50 year at Isanti near where they farmed.

Attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Merle Carpenter of Ireton and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Carpenter.

Survivors include the widow; a son, Clair, of Isanti; three daughters, Mrs. Charles Nichols of Ripon, Wis., Mrs. Arnold Skjeftes of Dunn Center, ND., and Mrs. Bernard Larson of Isanti; a sister, Mrs. Anna Westmeyer of Long View, Wash.; a brother, Albert of Hawarden, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren
