Former Hawarden Resident Dies

Funeral services for Mrs.James L. Kinney,46, of Shaker Heights near Cleveland, Ohio were held Saturday at Fairmount Presbyteran church there with burial at Lake View cemetery.

Mrs.Kinney,the former Katherine Randall, who was born in Hawarden, died at the University hospital there. She was married in 1941 in Indianapolis.

She resided in Hawarden as a child when her father,W.S. Randall, an attorney, was in partnership with the late Roy Snell. The Randalls built the house at 1401 Eleventh street now occupied by the Howard Jarvrin family. The Randall family moved from Harwarden when Katherine and her younger brother were small.

Mrs. Kinney was active in the P.T.A. of the Mercer elementary and Shaker Heights high school and a fund raiser for the Cleveland Health Museum, the Red Cross and community chest. She was active member of the Fairmount Presbyterian church and the Girl Scouts.

Her husband is head of Marketing Services Inc., and was formerly a General Electric executive.

Survivors include the widower; three daughters, Elizabeth Ann Carol, Virginia and Margaret Randall, and a son James Randall Kinney
