Mrs. H. E. Frazier, 45, a resident of Hawarden the past six years, died Tuesday night, March 15, in the Methodist hospital in Sioux City following an illness of less than three weeks.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 at the Frazier Funeral home and at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the First Methodist church with Rev. S. A. Kruschwitz officiating. B. N. Brown, soloist, with Miss Alma Rexwinkel as accompanist sang "Beyond the Sunset", and "Living for Jesus".

Pallbearers were Dave Gearhart, Henry Visser, York Johnson, Lawrence Smith, John Koob and Clarence Larson. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Hortense Frazier, daughter of Morris and Clara Kvols of Hawarden, was born July 29, 1909, at Laurel, Neb. At the age of two she moved with her parents to Belden, Neb., where she was graduated from high school. In the fall of 1926 she entered Morningside college, attending one year. She then entered the school of nursing in the Methodist hospital in Omaha from which she was graduated and received her R.N. in 1930. She was employed in the Methodist hospital in Omaha and at Wahoo, Neb. as a supervisor.

She was married to Harwood Frazier at Papillion, Neb, December 4, 1930. They moved to Sioux City where they established their home. She continued her profession and was director of visiting nurses until 1940, when she came to Hawarden. Since coming to Hawarden she assisted Mr. Frazier in operating the Frazier Funeral Home and frequently cared for the sick.

She was baptised in infancy and at the age of 14 joined the Presbyterian church, later transferring to the Methodist church.

Mrs. Frazier was an active member of the Woman's Society of Christian Service and a devoted Sunday school teacher of the First Methodist church in Hawarden.

She also took an active part in civic and lodge work. She was serving her second term as president of the Hawarden Woman's Club at the time of her death. While in this office Mrs. Frazier originated the idea that the Woman's club should give books to the Hawarden public library in memory of deceased members of the organization. She was a past Noble grand of June chapter of Rebekah lodge No. 106 and of Loyal Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.

Besides the widower, she is survived by two sons, Charles and Martin; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Morris Kvols, and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Krie of Laurel, Neb. and Mrs. Jeanette Jammer of Rock Rapids, Iowa.

A very long list of relatives and friends are in the obituary.
