Fosburg, Mrs. Ben - Abt. 1844-1922

Mrs. Ben Fosburg died at her home at Siloam Springs, Ark., on Tuesday, Dec. 19th, just three days following the death of her husband. Her condition was regarded as critical at the time of his death and it was not then believed that she would linger more than a very brief time. The remains of Mr. Fosburg were laid to rest in the Ireton cemetery on Dec. 18th and Mrs. Fosburg's remains were brought to Ireton last Friday and interred beside the newly made grave of her husband. Her death was due to senility. She was past 73 years of age. The remains were accompanied from Siloam Springs by her son-in-law, Will McCall. Her daughter, Mrs. Ethel Beadle and husband of Omaha, and her son, Arthur Fosburg of Sioux Falls, were also here for the funeral. The remains reached Craig Friday afternoon and were conveyed from there to Ireton where Rev. J. A. Kettle, pastor of the M.E. Church, conducted brief services at the grave.

Mrs. Fosburg resided in the vicinity of Ireton for many years with her family. They homesteaded northeast of town in the early 70's and resided on this homestead for more than thirty years when they moved into Ireton. About twelve years ago they moved to Siloam Springs, Ark., which place has since been their home. She is survived by three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Will McCall and Mrs. Geo. Dyer of Siloam Springs, Ark., Mrs. Ethel Beadle of Omaha, Neb., Arthur Fosburg of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Will Fosburg of Phoenix, Ariz.
