Angeline Visser, 83, of Sioux Center died Wednesday, July 25, at Sioux Center Community Nursing Home. Memorial services were at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. John Witvliet officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Visser was born May 27, 1918, in Sioux Center, the daughter of Albert and Annie (Cleveringa) Slobe. She married Leonard Visser on June 28, 1939, in Sioux Center. He died January 22, 1973, in Delray Beach, Florida. She became a resident of Sioux Center Community Health Center in May 1997.

She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, where she belonged to the Golden Hour Society and served as a pastoral worker. She was also a member of the Christian School Guild. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and baking.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Donna and Victor Longo of Phoenix, Arizona; three sons, Roger and his wife Nancy Visser and Dennis and his wife Dione Visser and Scott Visser, all of Sioux Center; a daughter-in-law and her husband, Ardith and David Lein of Sioux Center; 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Visser; a step-great-grandson; a sister, Wilhelmina Young; and five brothers, William, Fred, Art, Elmer and Albert James Slobe.

Memorials may be directed to the organ fund at First Christian Reformed Church.
