Jake Cannegieter, 63, of Sioux Falls, died at his home on Wednesday, March 11. Funeral services were held Saturday March 14, 2:00 p.m. at the First Methodist church with the Rev. Robert Wagner officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley under the direction of Miller Funeral Home of Sioux Falls.

Mr. Cannegieter was born October 29, 1906 at Neligh, Nebr. He married Cora Ver Burg at Rock Valley on January 30, 1930. Prior to moving to Sioux Falls in 1957, they lived in Rock Valley. He was a machinist for Sweetman Construction Co. of Sioux Falls.

Survivors are his widow, a son Don of Rock Valley, four daughters, Mrs. Wally Caswell of Inwood, Mrs. Gerrit Van De Stouwe of Fairview, S.D., Mrs. Richard Berkenpas of Rock Valley, and Mrs. Melvin Clark of Key West, Fla., 13 grandchildren, two brothers, John of Rock Rapids and George of Rock Valley, four sisters, Mrs. Adrian Oldenkamp, Mrs. Mary Roorda and Mrs. Ann Liestra of Rock Valley and Mrs. Paul Lems of Beloit, Ia.

A news note in the Rock Valley Bee of Jan. 22, 1970, says that he is recuperating at Key West, Florida, following hip surgery there.
