Robert B. Miller, 84, Alcester, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1992, at Morningside Manor in Alcester.

Services were Saturday at the United Church of Christ in Alcester. Rev. Jeanne Johnston officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Alcester.

Mr. Miller grew up in the Alcester Hawarden area and received his education in the Finnic Country School. He married Lula Hunt Nov. 25, 1939 in Dakota City, Neb. The couple farmed near Alcester from 1941 to 1974 when they retired and moved into Alcester. Mrs. Miller died Jan. 31, 1988.

He was a member of the Alcester United Church of Christ and 50 plus member of the Alcester Masonic Lodge. During the 1960s he was the Union CountyDemocratic chairman. He remained a strong Democratic party supporter throughout his life.

He is survived by one brother, James Miller of Milwaukee, Wis., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, Bruce and Neil, and one sister, Forence Beckman.
