Cornelius "Cornie" Den Hartog, 91, of Orange City died Sunday, August 5, at the Orange City hospital where he had been a patient for a week. He had been a resident of Heritage House in Orange City for four years.
Services are Wednesday, August 8, at 1:30 P.M., at First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Ralph Pontier officiating. Burial is at West Lawn Cemetery, Orange City.
Den Hartog was born March 4, 1899, in rural Orange City. He married Magdalene De Zeeuw, May 27, 1921. She died March 30, 1985.
He was a partner for 45 years with his brothers in the Den Hartog Brothers Garage in Orange City. He retired in 1965.
He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church for 69 years and served many years as deacon and elder.
Survivors include a son, Paul of Orange City; two daughters, Cynthia Brantsen of Sioux Center and Joyce Kooy of Galien, Michigan; a sister, Alydia Visser of Brooten, Minnesota; two brothers, Arthur of Belgrade, Minnesota, and Elmer of Hawarden; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Henry, William, John and Jim "Ed".
