Wilhelmina "Willy" Kudrle, age 91 of Rock Rapids, IA died Friday, August 27, 2010, surrounded by her family at the Lyon Manor in Rock Rapids.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 31st at Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids, with Fr. Jeff Schleisman, officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service on Tuesday, with 1:45 p.m. Rosary service at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids.
Wilhelmina Anne Kudrle was born November 14, 1918 at the family farm near Rock Valley, Iowa, the daughter of Case and Anna (Steck) Brower. As a young child Willy and her family moved to a farm west of Rock Rapids, IA, where she attended country school and helped with the farm chores.
On October 19, 1948 she was united in marriage to James Kudrle at the Holy Name Church Rectory in Rock Rapids, IA. Together they lived their entire married years in Rock Rapids, IA. They owned and operated the Hwy Lunch Café and later the Modern Motel. In 1968 they sold the business and Willy worked for the next several years at Central Lyon Elementary School in the cafeteria.
She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was an avid golfer, bowler and renowned card player. She also was known for her cooking ability. She was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan and loved to shop for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, James Kudrle of Rock Rapids, IA; two children, Robert (Mariannette) Kudrle of Sioux Falls, SD and Rita (Michael) Ormseth of Sioux Falls, SD; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Cornie (Lila) Brower of Rock Rapids, IA and Richard (Ann) Brower of Carthage, TN; and one sister, Edith Moeller of Rock Rapids, IA; and many other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Case and Anna Brower; and four brothers, Pete, Al, Jack and Delco Brower.
