PAUL BRUINSMA
VIRGINIA— Paul A. Bruinsma, Alexandria, Virginia, (formerly of Sioux Center), died December 25, at the Inova Mount Vernon Hospital.
Paul A. Bruinsrna was born in 1946, to Sam and Gladys (Boeyink) Bruinsma in Sioux Center. He graduated from Sioux Center High School in 1964. He attended Morningside College in Sioux City for one year before signing a contract to play baseball with the New York Yankees farm team. He played with the team for 2 years. He moved to California and Virginia and worked at construction and steel working jobs. He later moved back to Northwest Iowa and worked at Demco Manufacturing in Boyden for a number of years, in 2001, he moved back to Virginia.
He is survived by 6 brothers, Wayne and Marty, Sam, Robert and Lorna, Joe and Donna, all of Sioux Center, Randy of Worthington, MN, and Frank of CA; three sisters, Alda and Bill Severson of Sioux Falls, Nancy De Bondt, Sioux Center and Judy and Gary Wilson of Sioux Falls; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
