Hawarden--Homer R. Lush, 78, Hawarden, died Saturday at a Hawarden hospital after an apparent heart attack. Services will be at 1:30 a.m. [i.e., p.m.] Tuesday, October 19 at the Dow Funeral Home. The Rev. Marion Bloodworth will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Lush was born July 13, 1899, in Lincoln County, S.D. He moved to the Hawarden area in 1901. He farmed southeast of the town.

Survivors include a brother, Dellmar of Hawarden, and a sister, Mrs. Harold (Blanche) Martin of Newton.

A news note in the following week's Hawarden Independent (Oct. 27, 1977) notes that relatives who came to attend the funeral of Homer Lush were Mrs. George Atwood of Leesburg, Florida; and Mrs. H. S. Nyhus and daughter Vivian and Mrs. Elmer Beatty, all of Sioux City, Iowa.
