Lindy Anderson, 64, of Hawarden,
died Sunday (Oct. 6, 1991) at the
Hawarden Community hospital following
a lengthy illness.

Services were Wednesday at the
American Lutheran church in Hawarden.

Rev. Karla J. Kirkeby officiated.
Burial was in Grace Hill
cemetery at Hawarden, under direction
of Porter-Dow funeral home in
Hawarden.

Mr. Anderson was born Aug. 24,
1927, in Hawarden, the son of Carl
and Cora (Munson) Anderson. He
attended Hawarden public school
and served four years with the navy
during World War II. He married
Marilyn Anderberg Nov. 16, 1946,
near Alcester, S.D. The couple lived
in Hawarden, where he was a carpenter.
She died Feb. 3, 1988.

He was a member of the American
Lutheran church, Hawarden American
Legion and Eagles club. He was
a past member of the Hawarden
volunteer fire department.

Survivors include three sons, Linden
and Dennis, both of Hawarden,
and Gary of Ottumwa; a brother,
Kenneth of Sioux City; a sister, Mrs.
Leo (Dorothy) Schumacher of Hawarden;
and nine grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by
three brothers and a sister.
